Tushirikiane (Let us collaborate) in Swahili language spoken across East Africa, is an initiative created to promote Kenyan tourism and culture through art, gastronomy and business. One such initiative is Switcharoo.
This is a value-based transnational artist residency program that believes in collaboration over competition. Grounded in the ‘Sharity’ philosophy, its
mission is to encourage peer-to-peer collaborations and exchanges between emerging creatives in Kenya and France, in ways that foster their professional growth.
Since its conception in December 2018, Switcharoo’s goal is to use cross-cultural and interdisciplinary co-creation as a means to increase the resources needed by artists to develop their professional. Switcharoo currently supports six Kenyan and six French musicians and visual artists.
This will be a unique opportunity to meet cultural industry players and decision makers from Kenya, the rest of Africa and Europe. It will also allow be an occasion to meet and interact with our business community network.
Capacity building and giving back to the community is also a key function of the “Tushirikiane” Initiative.
For the year 2020, we have chosen to support Inua dada Foundation as a humanitarian initiative. Inua Dada Foundation is a Menstrual Equality
Advocacy body that advocates for comprehensive allocation of resources towards young women, to better manage their menstruation by having access to the right information, products and opportunities for economic empowerment. We do this by partnering with non-profit organisations, philanthropies and multilateral agencies to develop and implement impactful campaigns to realise Menstrual Health Management (MHM) for all women.
