For the second consecutive year, the World Rugby Sevens Series tournament, which brings together the best national 7-a-side rugby teams, will make a stop in Toulouse from May 12th to 14th, 2023.
The World Rugby Sevens Series is an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments. It is held as a championship between fifteen national teams from autumn to spring.
The biggest teams in Toulouse for the World Rugby Sevens Series
Tickets for the Toulouse stage of the tournament are not yet available, but will be on the event’s website.
At the previous edition of the World Rugby Sevens Series in Toulouse, teams from the biggest nations, such as South Africa, England, and New Zealand, gathered at the Ernest Wallon Stadium.
The stakes for the Paris Olympics
“This year, the stakes are even higher at each stage of the World Rugby Sevens Series: they serve to allocate Olympic quotas for the Paris 2024 Games,” said the International Olympic Committee.
“Eight quotas for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be allocated thanks to the ranking of the World Rugby Sevens Series 2023,” the committee said. There are four spots at stake for men’s teams and four for women’s teams.
