Application for Certificates of No Impediment
Certificates of No Impediment are issued to KENYAN CITIZENS wishing to have their marriages, either to Kenyan citizens or foreigners (Non-Kenyans) performed abroad. The Certificate confirms that the applicant is SINGLE and has the capacity to enter into marriage.
Every Kenyan wishing to marry abroad has to apply for a Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage from the nearest Kenyan Mission. The application is then forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General (State Law Office) in Nairobi, Kenya for processing.
NOTE
-Marriages conducted without issuance of this Certificate will neither be recognized by the Mission nor by the Authorities in Kenya.
-The Kenya Government neither acknowledges nor endorses same-sex marriages.
-The govt of Kenya does not issue certificat de coutume but the Embassy issues an attestation to present to the mairie to that effect to accompany the certificate of no impediment.
The following are the requirements to facilitate issuance of a Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage:-
1. Duly filled Application Form below (Form No.7);
2. Copy of kenyan passport;
3. Proof of legal stay (Valid Residence permit)
4. Copy Kenyan birth certificate;
5. Copy of the Fiancée’s (spouse to be) passport;
6. Application fee of 110 Euros in cash;

Application for Certificate of Good Conduct
Certificate of Good Conduct are issued to KENYAN CITIZENS by the kenyan embassies abroad or online through E-Citizen, available on this link this link >>>
Every Kenyan wishing to a certificate of Good Conduct, should make a request from the nearest Kenyan Mission abroad. The application is then forwarded to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Nairobi, Kenya for processing.
The following are the requirements to facilitate issuance of a Certificate of Goo Conduct:-
1. Duly filled Application Form (Download below) and Finger and palm prints taken at the nearest police station of residence
2. Copy of kenyan passport;
3. Copy Kenyan birth certificate;
4. Copy Kenyan ID;
5. Proof of legal stay (Residence permit)
6. Application fee of 20 Euros in cash;

15€ – All certificates apart from Driving license
35€ – Driving license translation
15€ – All legalisations

20€ – Emergency travel document
NOTE
– The Application can be personally delivered to the Embassy, or by a courier.
– Kenyan Embassy does not translate academic certificates
BIRTH CERTIFICATE APPLICATION FOR KENYAN CHILDREN BORN IN FRANCE
The following documents are required
- Download application form BDA.1 below
- Copy of child’s French Birth Certificate
- Copy of translated version of child’s Birth Certificate from French to English.
- Copy of parent(s) Kenyan Passport
- Copy of parents Birth Certificates
- Proof of legal stay of parents in France (residence permit or carte de sejour) must be valid
- 15€ in cash
- Clearly indicate your phone number on a separate piece of paper.

- Copy of the Birth Certificate
- Copy of your Passport
- A letter addressed to the Embassy requesting legalization

Passport Application/Renewal/Replacement
How to apply
- Register on www.ecitizen.go.ke
- Login in and navigate to Department of Immigration Services.
- Click on Make application and select Passport Application (Adult or Child)
- Read the instructions carefully then fill the application form.
- Select the mode of payment and pay for the passport fees.
- Download and print the application form and three application receipts.
- Submit the application form in person to the kenyan embassy in Paris
