The processing of the new Kenya e-passport is possible in almost all kenyan embassies abroad.
Here is the procedure of replacing your old passport with the new e-passport
Before Starting you must have the following documents/informations with you.
1. Old passport for replacement.
2. Birth certificate informations.
3. National ID Card informations
4. Your PIN number, if you don’t have get it online >>>HERE
5. A recommender (Must be a Kenyan)
6. Recommender’s ID Card informations.
7. Parents National ID informations.
8. Mode of payment (Mpesa Airtel Money or credit card).
THE E-PASSPORT PROCEDURE
Step 1
Visit the eCitizen portal and login to the eCitizen portal. >>>HERE
Step 2
Login or register. If you have an account with the immigration service department you don’t have to register, but if you don’t have one, it means your first step is to register.
Step 3
Click on immigration Kenya e-Passport application online form. You don’t have to answer all the questions at once, but ensure the details are right.
Step 4
Payment
You can pay through Mpesa or credit card
Step 5 – Download and print your pre-filled application form.
Step 6
Print the 3 receipts of the payments you made, they will be required when submitting to the embassy.
Step 8
Book and appointment with your embassy
Step 7
Submit the application form and other necessary documents to the embassy.
Once you have booked your appointment with the embassy you should go with the following documents:
1. Old passport for replacement.
2. Original birth certificate and photocopy.
3. Original National ID Card & copy.
4. Three Current passport size photos.
5. Recommender’s ID Card copy.
6. The eCitizen pre-filled passport application form and the three receipts
